Fairbanks Arts Association is proud to present
Artwork by Students of the Fairbanks North Borough School District
About Up With Art
Up With Art is the annual exhibition of artwork by students of the Fairbanks North Star Borough School District. FNSBSD and Fairbanks Arts Association team up every March during National Youth Art Month and Alaska Arts Education Month to honor our students. The Up With Art exhibition is hosted in Fairbanks Arts' gallery and gives the community an opportunity to view exemplary art created by students in grades PreK through 12.
The 36th Up With Art originally opened in Fairbanks Arts Association's Wandering Bear Gallery on Friday, March 6 and saw an early closure 10 days later due to COVID-19 concerns. That was not how Fairbanks Arts wanted to celebrate Youth Art Month, so our staff has created this website to give Up With Art an encore! Please enjoy this online exhibition through the end of April!
We encourage you to sign up for the Arts Education F.A.N. (Fairbanks Arts News) so you can stay up to date with Interior Alaska arts education happenings!

Meet the 2020 Up With Art Judges
Tanner Rhines
My name is Tanner Rhines and I'm an internationally exhibited artist from Fairbanks, AK. I was thrilled to be a juror for the Up With Art student art show. When giving a critique and judging a piece, I look for creative risk-taking and technical skill. Creativity can not be taught, but it can be cultivated and recognized. I try to look for art that I haven't seen before, comparing and contrasting local works emerging from the artists of tomorrow.

Jamelle Duszynski
As a local artist and a mother of an artist, I am always amazed by the talent we have in our young people in our community. When viewing art, I look for technical skill, but also appreciate color and originality; which all contribute to the emotion that is evoked from the piece. I'm so honored to be a part of this juried exhibition – each and every artist involved has talent that I believe will take them far as their art evolves as they grow, learn, and mature. Bravo to all who participated!
